Overview |
|
We do not require of all new members to create a new character for joining the guild, in some cases it is necessary though. Starting a new character grants the opportunity to make a new start as a character and skill-wise, the skills are less important, what matters in the beginning is that your character fits in to the roleplaying aspect, battle can wait.

Name |
|
The name of your character reveals some of
his heritage, especially if you add a surname. Again try not to make it
too glamorous, and do not use famous names from history and fiction,
we've all seen our share of Arn De Gothias, Striders and Beowulfs, keep it
simple. Putting a title in front of your name is also a bad idea, first of all because you are starting a person from scratch, and second because you might someday reach the title of lord, which will be put in front of your name, Lord King Ralph just doesnt sound that appealing, especially not for a templar. It has often been seen that real-life friends take the same surname, creating a house, for example the Knights Templar are proud to house among others the Thaywyn family, comprised of a group of rl good friends, it adds yet another aspect to the game, which is always a good thing. If you need inspiration, there are lots of name-generators out there, try searching google, or try this one:

Race |
|
The Knights Templar only accept human candidates for recruitment. It is said, that only a being of relatively short lifespan can truely devote itself to the momentary circumstances surrounding it, paladinhood requires such devotion, for the same reason an elf cannot join the order.

Appearance |
|
Generally try to make you character as normal looking as possible, its not his appearance, but his actions that he will be judged from. The only restriction to the looks of a candidate are:

|
Our past defines who we are, this goes for
your character as well. Try to think of a story not too glorious or amazing, instead concentrate on the details and use them in your everyday roleplay. For instance where are your character from? Does he/she speak a dialect? Is there a special reason for the selected skills? Did his/her father/mother teach him/her (ok im just going to say her from now on...) to fight? Just remember that of course the background is important, but its what you do, not what you say that defines you, and the experiences you have with your brethren is what shapes your character. Please always keep your character's description updated here

Behaviour/features |
|
Does your character have any significant
features? Try to be creative, I remember one recruit who had an incredible
slow connection, he used that lag to roleplay him being too fat to keep up.
A fun feature and a way to get around an annoying problem (He later got
ADSL, in-game his character trained for a few weeks and lost a lot of
weight =)

Skills |
|
In order for you to get the most out of your
skill-set, you should choose the skills you think you would find a purpose
for, of course its important to be able to stand your ground on the
battlefield, but if you enjoy fishing, why not let it play a part in the
life of your character? All skills except for the following are allowed:
If you are in doubt on how to put together your skills, your brethren will be happy to assist you with advice and tips on how to train them legitimately. In the beginning, when creating a new character, you will spend a lot of time moving from place to place, so it might be a good idea to take chivalry or magery as one of your primary skills, allowing you to use the recall spell. As a second skill we suggest healing or anatomy. All done with your new character? click here to see how to join |
